2 crime group members nabbed in Zambo Sur

TWO members of a crime group were separately arrested in law enforcement operations in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

Police Major Samson Pascual, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Field Unit chief, identified the two arrested suspects as Jaisser Baradzar, 21, and Julhamin Imlane, 30, all members of the Baradzar Crime Group based in Pagadian City in that province.

Pascual said that Baradzar was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant for arrest around 12:45 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at Purok Iranon in Muricay village, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur.

Pascual said that Baradzar has standing warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 8550 otherwise known as the Philippine Fisheries Code with no recommended bail dated September 15, 2022 issued by the court of Pagadian City.

Pascual said that Baradzar is the newly-identified leader of the Baradzar Criminal Group which is involved in the series of destructive method of fishing in Yllana and Dumanquilas Bays.

Imlane was arrested in a law enforcement operation around 3 p.m. Monday, October 17, also at Purok Iranon in Muricay village, Pagadian City, according to Pascual.

He said that Imlane has standing warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 8550 otherwise known as the Philippine Fisheries Code with no recommended bail dated September 15, 2022 issued by the court of Pagadian City

He said that like Baradzar, Imlane was also involved in the series of destructive method of fishing in Yllana and Dumanquilas Bays that destroyed the marine environment leaving it devoid of life through the used explosives and unauthorized fishing nets. (SunStar Zamboanga)
