IN time for the inauguration of their fifth site in Davao City, VXI, the largest employer in Davao, revealed their donation of various items, including computer sets, to two institutions in the city as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
Dubbed as Passion for Davao, Passion for People, Passion for Education, the company gives back to the community it is in through its CSR, and this time its beneficiaries are the Welfare Action Foundation of Davao (Boystown Davao) and the Davao City National High School.
Boystown Davao received computer units, uniforms and clothing, sacks of rice, beddings, and food supplements, to support its vision to "become a home and school of life for the disadvantaged boys in Davao."
Meanwhile, Davao City National High School got computer sets, uniforms, and electric fans to support its vision to "protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education" in Davao.
Jamie Salazar, VXI Vice President for Operations, said the initiative is part of their growth in Davao City.
"We want to believe that as we grow here in Davao we will create an impact on the community," Salazar said.
VXI's inauguration of its fifth site in Davao at the Davao Finance Center at Davao Park District, Davao City, will add to its current 11 sites in different regions in the Philippines.
"This achievement allows us an even greater opportunity to showcase the world-class talent of the people of this beautiful city. It enhances our ability to make a positive impact in the communities we serve, providing meaningful careers, and creating more livelihood for our employees and their families," Salazar said during the opening of its new site.
Meanwhile, Eppie Titong, Senior Vice President and Country Manager of VXI, said the opening of its Davao Finance Center site marks VXI's continued commitment to and belief in the talent and potential of Dabawenyos and Mindanaons.
"VXI first came to Davao in October 2011 with only 50 employees, and today it's home to over 8,000 employees. With five physical sites across the city and a growing demand from our customers, we are looking to fill over a thousand new positions in the coming months," Titong said.
