FIVE street-level drug peddlers were arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Sulu, the police reported Thursday, October 20, 2022.

The Sulu Police Provincial Office identified the arrested suspects as the following: Abdulaziz Sakandal, 31; Gamar Lakibul, 36; Charlie Dupra, Jr., 41; Nurdiya Patrimonio, 26; and Mely Paradji, 62.

The police said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, in Zone 3, Tulay village, Jolo, Sulu.

The police said confiscated from the five arrested suspects were some eight grams of suspected shabu worth P54,400 and packed in 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and other illegal drug paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects were brought to Jolo Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Jhon Guyguyon, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region director, lauded the efforts of the Jolo police for their intensive and unrelenting campaign against the trafficking and use of dangerous drugs.

“Every suspected pusher and user will be subjected to an intensive undercover investigation until enough evidence is gathered to conduct a buy-bust operation to arrest them,” Guyguyon said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
