PASSENGER tricycles will be allowed to drop off passengers going to the Wireless Public Cemetery during Undas, said head of City Transport and Traffic Management Office retired PCol. Dionisio Abude.

“Regulated ang mga tricycle diha (The tricycles will be regulated). Pwede sila makahatod pero dili na sila makabalik, mututok na lang sila (They can drop off passengers but they can’t turn back, they have to go around the rerouted traffic scheme),” Abude said during a radio interview on Thursday, October 20.

Tricycle drivers may opt to drop their passengers at the corner of Father Selga Street and F. Torres Street since the roads are rerouted to one-way traffic for the Undas celebration thus vehicles will not be allowed to turn back.

“Pwede sila muhunong sa corner Father Selga and F. Torres then mulatay na alng ang mga pasahero paadto sa Wireless para ang dirver dili na mutuyok kay sa Lopez Jaena pa sila pwede mutuyok (They can be dropped off at corner father Selga and F. Torres then the passengers can walk to the cemetery so tricycles won’t have to go around),” Abude said.

Parking vehicles in front of Wireless cemetery all the way to the circumferential road is also prohibited but private cemeteries have their own parking schemes.

On the other hand, designated drop-off for passengers going to the Davao Memorial Park at Gen. Douglas MacArthur Highway are along the Alexian Brothers Health and Wellness Center and Coca Cola Village.

“Ang one lane dedicated siya from Tulip Drive, magbutang ta didto og bollard para ang musulod sa Davao Memorial Park, ma-confine na siya didto sa isa ka-lane (A one-way lane is dedicated from Tulip Drive that would lead to the Davao Memorial Park),” Abude said, but two south-bound lanes will still be open for vehicles.

Vendors will also be transferred in front of the memorial park instead of at the side of the road.

Abude said the CTTMO will prioritize the traffic surrounding major cemeteries in the city, including Davao Memorial Park, Wireless Public Cemetery, San Pedro Memorial Park, Forest Lake, Orchard Road Memorial Park, Davao American Veterans and Masonic Cemetery, Roman Catholic Cemetery, and Davao Chinese Cemetery.
