Four Lakay warriors added to ONE 164 in Manila

FOUR Team Lakay warriors have been added to ONE Championship’s return show on Philippine soil.

Former ONE flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio, No. 4 rated flyweight Danny Kingad, Jeremy Pacatiw and Jenelyn Olsim are all seeing action in ONE 164 on Dec. 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The 33-year-old Eustaquio is taking on Chinese warrior Hu Yong.

Eustaquio is looking for another run at the flyweight title currently around the waist of American superstar Demetrius “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

Eustaquio won back-to-back fights against Toni Tauru and Song Min Jong. He has not fought for two years.

Hu is looking to bounce back after losing to No. 3 rated Yuya Wakamatsu by unanimous decision in his fight last year.

Eustaquio is 11-7, the 26-year-old Hu is 7-3.

Meanwhile, Kingad looks to bounce back from a loss as he takes on Indian-Canadian Gurdarshan Mangat.

After losing to Johnson in the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Finals, Kingad split his next two fights. He defeated Xie Wei by unanimous decision in 2020 and was outclassed by Kairat Akhmetov by unanimous decision last year.

Mangat won his last two fights—a unanimous decision win over Roshan Mainam and a split decision victory over Yodkaikaew.

Kingad is 14-3, while Mangat is 16-3.

Pacatiw, on the other hand, locks horns with Burmese striker Tial Thang.

Pacatiw just made his ONE debut last year with a unanimous decision over Chen Rui. He lost his next fight after getting knocked out by No. 1 bantamweight contender Fabricio Andrade in the first round of their fight.

Thang, the protege of two-division world champion Aung La N Sang, is raring to bounce back in the cage after his last fight with Sunoto was ruled as a no contest.

Pacatiw is 11-5, while Thang is 3-1.

Meanwhile, Olsim trades leathers with former world-ranked Chinese Meng Bo.

Since returning from the Covid-19 pandemic, Olsim won three of her last four bouts. She defeated Maira Mazar, Bi Nguyen and Julie Mezabarba, while losing to Ritu Phogat.

Meng is currently in a slump, losing her last two fights against Phogat and Tiffany Teo.

Olsim is 5-3, while Meng is 17-7.

The main event of ONE 164 features the much-anticipated title clash between ONE strawweight champion Joshua Pacio (20-3) against No. 1 contender Jarred Brooks (19-2).
