AWARE of RA 11358 which mandates all LGUs to conduct their CBMS teach-ins to put government funds to good use in such activities, the Mabalacat City's CPDO has conducted again a summit on August 16-17, 2022 involving barangay officials, PSA staff and the CPDO staff led by their head, Rosan S. Paquia, EnP, at the Side Griller function room in Mabiga, Mabalacat City.
This data-driven, evidence-based seminar touched on various matters designed to make participants well knowledgeable on the techniques of funds management and employability to avert any misuse or mis-alignment thereof.
The barangay is the basic unit most affected by the parameters of the CBMS or the Community Based Monitoring System. It has templates to follow and replicate in order to make the data-gathering accurate and impactful. Rosan mentioned the need for all LGUs to adopt Mabalacby City's move towards CBMS and make their own style of monitoring government-induced projects and the corresponding funds.
If only this system is followed to the letter, wastage of government funds can be avoided and used for the benefit of all concerned, starting at barangay level.
The CBMS is a new and innovative way of forecasting project results and maximize the benefits from such forecasting. It helps the national government in its goal of providing for everyone, with no one left behind.
