DILG fetes Zambo City Government

THE City of Zamboanga was recognized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as a top performing local government unit in the fields of disaster preparedness and social welfare programs.

Represented by Mayor John Dalipe, the city government received four recognitions during the awarding ceremony dubbed “Gains on Devolution: Awards Night for Outstanding LGUs,” Wednesday night, October 26, as part of the month-long celebration of the 31st Local Government Month.

The awards by the City Government included a special award for being highly compliant in disaster preparedness and the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance.

The City was also a top performer in the 2022 PDAO (Persons with Disability Affairs Office) functionality assessment and the 2022 Local Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC) functionality assessment.

Dalipe together with City Social Welfare and Development Officer Ma. Socorro Rojas and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Dr. Elmeir Apolinario received the plaques from the DILG represented by Zamboanga Peninsula Director Paisal Abutazil. (SunStar Zamboanga)
