STEPHEN Loman looks to continue his run in the ONE Championship cage as he takes on possibly the toughest fight of his career against former ONE bantamweight king Bibiano Fernandes in ONE Fight Night 4 on Nov. 18, 2022 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Loman, 30, wants to move up the bantamweight ladder and who better to beat than the former titleholder.
Loman barged into the ONE Championship by storm after scoring an impressive first round knockout of veteran Russian Yusup Saadulaev last year. He followed up that win with a unanimous decision against another legitimate contender in former Shooto bantamweight king Shoko Sato.
Loman is a winner of his last 10 fights, which also includes wins over current ONE Championship fighters Mark Abelardo and Gurdarshan Mangat.
Meanwhile, Fernandes was just recently dethroned by current ONE bantamweight champion John Lineker on March 11. Lineker knocked out Fernandes with a left hook in the second round.
Fernandes is a two-time ONE bantamweight champion. He first won the title in 2014 with a win over Masakatsu Ueda. He lost the title in 2018 after a split decision over Kevin Belingon. But won back the belt the following year after Belingon was disqualified for an elbow to the back of the head in their trilogy.
Loman is 16-2, while the 42-year-old Fernandes is 24-5.
ONE Fight Night 4 featured a double world title co-main event.
ONE welterweight champion Kiamrian Abbasov (23-5) defends his belt against current ONE lightweight king Christian Lee (16-4).
On the other hand, ONE flyweight Muay Thai titleholder Rodtang Jitmuangnon (268-42-10) places his belt on the line against ONE strawweight Muay Thai titlist Joseph Lasiri (43-12) in the co-main feature.
Also in the undercard, British Muay Thai star Jonathan Haggerty (18-4) trades leathers with Russian Warrior Vladimir Kuzmin (17-2) in a Muay Thai bout, while Fil-Kiwi striker Mark Abelardo (20-9) is up against Won Il Kwon (11-4) in a mixed martial arts fight.
