MURDER charges were filed yesterday, October 28 against a businessman for allegedly shooting to death a security guard during a traffic altercation in Cadiz City.

Lt. Colonel Gil John Despi said they filed the case against Mark Besa, 40, of Andrea Village in Barangay Zone 2 before the city prosecutor’s office.

At about 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, Besa reportedly shot Arnold Belocura, 57, of Purok Paghidaet also of Barangay Zone 2, police records showed.

Despi said that Besa was reportedly under the influence of liquor when he figured into a traffic altercation with Belocura.

He allegedly got irked when the victim cursed at him.

The victim succumbed to a lone gunshot wound on his right armpit, while Besa fled.

Six hours later, Besa was arrested in a pursuit operation in Barangay 1-A, Manapla town after his car was spotted there.

Police recovered from Besa a .45 caliber pistol with magazine and four live ammunition, and an empty shell of the same caliber.

A video captured by a surveillance camera from a nearby establishment captured the incident, Despi said.
