TO culminate the month-long National Teachers’ Month and World Teachers’ Day in October, Quipper, one of the leading edtech and LMS platforms in the Philippines celebrated teachers with its signature event called eQuippED 2022, a learning webinar series that aims to empower, support, equip, and engage educators with future-ready skills.

For these special days, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Z. Duterte provided a special video greeting for teachers where she said, “Despite our institution’s critical strides through the pandemic, the commitment of our teachers remains indispensable and meaningful to the continuity of learning, the academic success of our children, and the continued reformation of our nation.”

"I take this opportunity to thank all of you (teachers) for your optimism, strong resolve, dedication, and outstanding service. You have gone above and beyond uncertainties to ensure our children have access to quality education," the Vice President added.

Yusuke Takagi, CEO of Quipper Philippines, likewise added the importance of this celebration. "Quipper has always been dedicated to helping ensure that education is available, effective, and conducive for all types of learners. Our mission of bringing the best education to every corner of the world would not be possible without the strength and care of teachers all over the Philippines. eQuippED is our way of celebrating their resilience and for being advocates of modern classrooms," he said.

With the theme "eQuipping Teachers for the Future," the month-long webinar series provided sessions on how to empower teaching with education technology, the relevance of gamification of learning, the importance of managing mental health as an educator, and teaching English pronunciation in a fun and creative way.

During the culmination of this year's eQuippED last October 13, Tricia Ann Castro, school principal of De La Salle University (DLSU) Integrated Schools, delivered the final seminar that seals the month-long eQuippED 2022 activity. She discussed the importance of designing a learner-centered teaching approach in the 21st century.

The event also recognized this year's Quipper Super Teachers. In collaboration with global smart device brand OPPO, this award aims to identify and empower innovative and creative teachers who utilize technology as a teaching tool amidst the pandemic. These Super Teachers also effectively utilized the Quipper LMS platform to give an engaging learning environment to their students.

From the nominations, three Quipper Super Teachers were awarded for their excellent teaching performance in utilizing Quipper in their teaching. The awardees also upheld good human relations with their students and the school's stakeholders and illustrate honesty, integrity, and passion in teaching.

To support Quipper Super Teachers in their teaching journeys with technology, each Quipper Super Teacher received the OPPO Pad Air, OPPO A57, and OPPO Enco buds. These tools aim to inspire and help the Quipper Super Teachers continue being excellent educators of today's learners.

In addition, each of the awardees also received a free one-year subscription to ELSA Speak and a cash reward from Quipper. (PR)
