Batch 2012 got the best of Batch 2001, 70-57, in Division B of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Alumni Inter-Batch Basketball Tournament Season 3 last Sunday at the USPF gym in Lahug.
Gio Antigua rose to the occasion for 2012 as he notched 21 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the win. Clint Remedio and Jayson Cando added 14 points each, with the latter also hauling down 15 rebounds.
In other Division B games, 2011 nipped 2002, 68-65. Nifty guard Aristotle Alcos led the way for the winning side with 15 points, while Jenardlo Dondoyano had 13 markers. Pert Pono also tallied 12 points for 2011.
Batch 2014 also destroyed Batch 2000, 68-50. Goldwayne Baje paced 2014 with a game-high 23 points, three steals, two rebounds, and two assists.
In Division A, Batch 1998 upended Batch 1992, 59-49. Peter Tabasa had 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists, while Ervin Caballero and Wilson Auditor chimed in with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Batch 1996 also defeated Prince Stores 1994, 68-59. Junjie Aclan had an impressive double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way for 1996.
