MAJOR General Ignatius Patrimonio, commander of the Army’s 11th Infantry Division, urged the troops of the 32nd Infantry “Daredevil” Battalion to utilize what have they learned from the training in the performance of their duties.

Patrimonio’s call came after the Daredevil Troopers have completed on Sunday, October 30, a three-month Battalion Retraining Program. The closing ceremony was held at the 32IB headquarters in Sitio Tuak, Bonbon village, Patikul, Sulu.

“Always remember the three aspects of the training which are to fight, lead and to win. We are winning the peace in the province of Sulu. I therefore challenge each of you to use what you have learned during the training in order to sustain our gains and maintain the momentum,” Patrimonio said.

Patrimonio told the troops to be focused, responsive and credible in their undertakings both in combat and non-combat duties as “we portray in the province of Sulu that we are their peace and development partners.”

“The three-month Battalion Retraining Program enhances our combat readiness, skills and competency of the Battalion. It also develops the unit cohesion and camaraderie of the men and women of our unit,” said Lieutenant Colonel Edward Viteño, commander of the 32IB.

Major Emerson Ian Borja, 32IB’s head of education and training, said the Battalion Retraining Program is designed to train and develop the combat readiness of the battalion in order to be readily deployable and capable in performing it’s given mission.

The retaining was held under the supervision of the 11th Division Training School (DTS).

“We are directed to conduct and supervise the training to enhance the battalion's operational readiness, and improve its core competencies and functional capabilities,” said Colonel Leomar Jose Doctolero, 11DTS commandant. (SunStar Zamboanga)
