THE Police Regional Office-Davao Region (PRO-Davao) announced that its forces will intensify their visibility come December for the Christmas season.

PRO-Davao regional director Brigadier General Benjamin Silo Jr. said they will hold a command conference after the observance of Undas. He said the conference will focus on security preparations for the coming Yuletide season.

“The public can expect tightened security services from the Philippine National Police (PNP),” Silo said.

He said the majority of their personnel will be deployed on the ground.

“We will be utilizing 95 percent of our personnel and to fill areas where our services are really needed by the community,” Silo said.

Silo said the remaining five percent of the personnel in the PNP will work on the administrative tasks in their office.

“I-ma-maximize po namin, ang basic principle talaga na sinusunod ng PNP (We will maximize our available personnel. The basic principle of the PNP that we follow) is 85 percent will be deployed outside while the 15 percent will be doing the administrative works,” Silo said.

He also said they will utilize the Regional Mobile Force to ensure peace and order celebration of Christmas in the region.

“Makikita niyo na even in the malls na dadami ang presenya ng kapulisan at sisiguraduhin namin na mahabol at mapababa ang crimes against property nitong kapaskuhan na ito (You will observe that even inside the malls, police visibility will be there and we will make sure to lower the rate of crimes against property during this season),” Silo said.

Aside from malls, Silo said they will also deploy personnel in terminals and churches as he asked to support the local government units' activities this December.

The PRO-Davao will issue an early full alert declaration after the command conference. KSD
