DAVAO City Water District (DCWD) announced all areas served by Tugbok Water Supply System will experience a 16-hour water service interruption on November 5 to 6, 2022.
DCWD said this temporary interruption, which begins at 10 a.m on November 5 and until 2 a.m on November 6, is to give way for the installation of a wye strainer and blow-off valve assembly along Davao-Bukidnon Road near the University of Southeastern Philippines Mintal (USEP-Mintal) in Tugbok.
“This project is among DCWD’s strategies to lessen water service downtime,” DCWD said.
DCWD Spokesperson, Jovana Cresta Duhaylungsod said during her interview with Davao City Disaster Radio on November 4, 2022, the entire Barangay Tugbok (Sitio Mahayahay, Mahayahay Road, Davao-Bukidnon Road, Sitio Quarry), Mintal, Sto Niño, and Catalunan Pequeno are among of the areas who will experience no water service.
Duhaylungsod said in Catalunan Grande, about 18 areas are affected including Edullantes Compound, Grand View Mutual Residences, Matina Pangi Relocation, Mira Village, Mountain View Subdivision Phase 2, Restauro Village, Samantha Homes, San Gabriel Village, Sto. Niño Grande HOA, Santiago Villas Subdivision, Sarpha Village, Sitio Awa, Sitio Felomina, Sitio Guadalupe, Sitio Toril, Sitio Ubat, Sta. Martha, and Immediate environs.
There are also Bago Oshiro areas that will be affected, specifically in Panacan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Philippine Coconut Authority, BPI Housing, Sitio Sinalikway, Purok 7, and Immediate environs.
While in Bago Gallera areas that will be affected are Rosalina Village 1, Adciville Subdivision, Toscana Subdivision, Kabataan Center Association, Sitio Durian, San Lorenzo Village, Upper Rapnaga, Reldo Village, and Carmelo Porras Subdivision.
Meanwhile, Duhaylungsod said a scheduled power interruption on November 6, 2022, will affect their operation at Riverside Water Supply System (RWSS) at 12:01 a.m to 3:00 a.m and 7:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m.
“Because of this, maminos ang available nga water supply, low pressure to no water sa tanang areas nga naserbisyuhan sa RWSS (we only have limited available water supply, so it will be low pressure to no water service to all areas served by RWSS),” Duhaylungsod said.
Affected areas are the following; Barangay Riverside, Tugbok Proper, Tacunan, Los Amigos, Biao Guianga, Biao Skwela, Biao Cotson, Matina Biao, Balingaeng Ula, and Talandang. There are also affected areas in Catalunan Grande specifically in Alejandra National HOA, Apo Highlands, Low Cost Housing project in Ateneo property, Lualhati Subdivision, San Miguel HOA, Santiago Villa, Sitio San Pedro, Sitio San Marta, Sitio Sto. Niño Ilihan, Southpoint Homes and Greenwoods Subdivision.
