A HOUSEWIFE was arrested by authorities in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Sunday, November 6, 2022.
Police Major Samson Pascual, officer-in-charge of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Field Office, identified the arrested housewife as Jelyn Clariño, 37.
Pascual said that Clariño was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of a warrant of arrest around 10:32 a.m. Saturday, November 5, in Sta. Fe village, Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Pascual said that Clariño has a standing warrant of arrest for grave oral defamation with P18,000 recommended bail dated November 3, 2022 issued by the court of Piñan-La Libertad, Zamboanga del Norte.
He said the accused allegedly uttered malicious words in public, which ruined the reputation of the complainant, whose identity was withheld, which resulted in the filing of the case against Clariño.
He said the accused was brought to the CIDG-Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Field Office for documentation and proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
