A SOLDIER listed as the second most wanted person was arrested in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Sunday, November 6, 2022.

Police Lieutenant Benjie Tundayag, officer-in-charge of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Field Office, identified the arrested soldier as Corporal Bryan Santander, 35, the second most wanted person in Ganassi, Lanao del Sur.

Tundayag said Santander was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 6:22 p.m. Saturday, November 5, in Purok Kamunggay, Alegria village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Tundayag said Santander has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of murder with no recommended bail dated March 4, 2016 issued by the court of Marawi City.

He said that seized from Santander when the latter was arrested was a .9-millimeter pistol with 59 rounds of live ammunition.

He said Santander and another soldier, Corporal Cerilo Mag-abo, were implicated in the killing of Sedik Lanto Tanog on July 22, 2013, which resulted in the filing of the case against them.

He said that Mag-abo is still at large. (SunStar Zamboanga)
