They had it all!

A majestic floor-to-ceiling welcome panel, adorned with ruby-red and white flowers, stylish ladies in ruby-red flowing gowns, a dramatic stage bright with glimmers and greens, at a fabulously hip venue, Radisson Blu Cebu!

Indeed, the Zonta Club of Cebu 2 left nothing to chance as it marked 40 years of dedicated advocacies and services to uplift the status of women worldwide.

The memorable evening commenced with the Zonta official prayer and song flawlessly hosted by Zontian Mary Rose Maghuyop, as her vibrant voice continued to herald the evening’s activities.

Proudly, the Club introduced its special guest from Manila Zonta District 17 governor, Ofelia Bautista, as well as visitors from Mother Club Zonta Cebu 1, led by president Jane Panganiban.

The mic then went to chairperson of the Ruby event, lawyer Zontian Regal Oliva, assisted by co-chairperson Myrna Cruz Tan, who gave a brief but relevant listing of the club’s areas of concern.

Articulate Zonta 2 president, lawyer Mae Elaine Bathan then shared her thoughts with the crowd, as new members were welcomed to Zonta.

Of course, highlight of the event was the challenging address of special guest, governor Bautista, who inspired her fellow Zontians of the Biennium’s battle cry “Stop Child Brides and Teenage Pregnancies,” for which she was applauded.

Dinner was superb, as ladies sashayed to the buffet spread, not once, but twice as entertainment was enjoyed by all.

Happy 40 years, as guests toasted the celebrants, in an orchestrated raising of glasses. Here’s to more advocacies and services!

Each one then took home a souvenir, an elegant ruby-red brooch.

What else? Congrats for a perfectly planned anniversary, Zontians!
