LA CARLOTA City has registered the highest number of dengue cases in Negros Occidental from January to October 29 this year.
Data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed that the southern Negros Occidental has 392 cases while 17 other local government units (LGUs) logged triple digit number of cases.
Following La Carlota, is Himamaylan City with 377 cases during the same period; Kabankalan City - 363; Bago City - 342; San Carlos City- 325; Cadiz City - 292; Hinigaran - 268; Binalbagan - 246; Sagay City - 211; Pontevedra- 202; Sipalay City - 190 ; Talisay City - 176; Cauayan- 157; Calatrava- 146; Silay City - 141; Isabela - 128; Murcia - 112; and Escalante City - 100.
The remaining localities in the province have single digit cases with the mountainous town of Candoni having the lowest dengue case, at 20.
Negros Occidental has a total of 4,964 dengue cases during the said period. Of which, 45 are new cases and 29 deaths.*
