THE closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras requested by Barangay Campo 4 in Talisay City, Cebu has already been approved by the City Council.

Talisay City Vice Mayor Richard Francis "Choy" Aznar said the approval has been made during the City Council’s session on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Barangay Campo 4 earlier submitted a resolution to the Office of the Vice Mayor requesting for the installation of 14 CCTVs in their barangay as a way to enforce peace and order, as well as monitor the activities around the barangay, including vehicular accidents and the possible occurrence of a landslide.

Campo 4 is one of the barangays in Talisay where landslides often occur.

"Kanang disgrasya usa pud na sa consideration nganong nag request pud sila but most importantly ang kana gyud pag monitor pud nila sa ilang peace and order sa ilang Barangay," said Aznar.

(That road accident is also one of the things that they consider in requesting CCTV, but most importantly, the peace and order in their barangay.)

The Talisay City Government promotes Barangay Campo 4 as a tourist destination.

It is also in the barangay where Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony "Samsam" Gullas is constructing a Mountain View Deck.

Campo 4 is the third barangay after Candulawan and San Isidro that requested for a CCTV from the City Government.

"So far, mao pa na ang niabot sa atong opisina kahibalo pud mi nga ang ubang barangay duna naman sila existing CCTV unya ang uban katong pag-bagyo nangaguba karon murag ila na pud gi-rehabilitate karon. Nag request lang mi sa ubang barangay para mapun-an namo ug unsa pa gyud ang ilang kulang para mapa-ayo ang ilang CCTV," Aznar said.

(So far, that’s what we received in our office. We also know that some barangays have existing CCTVs, while others had theirs repaired after being damaged by the typhoon. We are requesting other barangays to let us know what else they need to fix their CCTV.)

Aznar said the CCTVs for Barangays Candulawan and San Isidro were funded by the city’s Mayor Special Project Fund, while the budget for Campo 4 CCTVs will be taken from the coffers of the City Council. (BBT, TPT)
