THE Task Force Alambre (Wire) has begun Friday, November 11, 2022, conducting the first of a series of operations to clear dangling lines in the southern port city.

The task force, which was recently reconstituted by Mayor John Dalipe, launched the campaign beginning on Juan S. Alano Street and Mayor Cesar Climaco Avenue downtown.

Dalipe said the campaign is to remove telco and cable wires, including electrical lines, that are inactive as “these are unsightly and pose danger to pedestrians and motorists, alike.”

“Let us make sure that there will be no accident due to dangling wires. We should remove those dangling and unused wires,” Dalipe said.

The Task Force Alambre composed of the Office of the City Administrator, City General Services Office, City Engineer's Office, National Telecommunications Commission, Department of Information and Communications Technology, and several Telecommunications and Cable companies including Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative.
