HIMAMAYLAN City will soon be a sister city of Taguig City.
This was after Himamaylan Mayor Raymund Tongson met with Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano for the twinning agreement of the two cities.
Tongson in a statement said the twinning agreement is anchored on their shared intention to promote equality and mutual benefit through utilizing existing partners and networks.
He said that it will also pave the way for examining opportunities for the possibility of new investments, stimulate sustainable economic movement, and create jobs in order to make our nation and our cities more competitive.
“It is also an essential step in achieving our aim of uniting distinct sociocultural communities in order to create a sound system for resource sharing, providing assistance in times of need, and sharing knowledge in order to ensure prosperity," Tongson added.
The two mayors met at the recently concluded two-day League of Cities of the Philippines Convergence meeting hosted by Taguig City last week.
