Mayon crushed Text-A-Kote, 85-54, to pick up their fourth win in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Club Island Premium Paints Cup 2022 last Friday at the Metrosports Gym in Lahug.
The victory was Mayon’s fourth in five games. John Bautista led Mayon’s balanced attack with 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Alvin Bioncog added 14 of his own.
The loss was Text-A-Kote’s first of the tournament.
In other Group B games, ColorQuick defeated Life, 84-77, for their second win of the tournament. Michael Cinco nearly had a triple-double with 26 points, 17 rebounds, and seven assists.
Concreto Bond also walloped Epoxseal, 90-54, thanks to the 21-point, 10-rebound, three-assist, and two-steal performance of James Cabardo.
ColorQuick, Concreto Bond, and Life now share similar 2-3 cards.
Over in Group A, Super Kinis Skim Coat White nipped Roof Kote, 54-51, for their fourth win in five matches. Dexsel Caadan had 17 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks, and two steals in the victory.
Star Elastomer also took down Equip Tile Adhesive, 78-57. Arnel Cordero took charge for Star Elastomer as he had 27 points, eight boards, four assists, and two blocks.
And finally, Apollo nipped Prima in overtime, 71-65. Mark Miole stood tall with his double-double showing of 19 points and 12 rebounds.
