TWO persons were arrested while some P612,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga del Sur and in this city, the police reported Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
Arrested were Vangeler Beltran, 41 and Jabbar Hassan, 39, police officials said.
Police Colonel Diomarie Albarico, Zamboanga del Sur police director, said that Beltran was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 5:40 p.m. Monday, November 14, at Purok Mauswagon in Blancia village, Molave town.
Albarico said the seized from Beltran, a resident of Sagadan village, Baroy, Lanao del Norte, were some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, a coin purse used as container of suspected shabu, a caliber .38 revolver with four ammunitions, a cellular phone, a motorcycle, a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill as marked money and other illegal drug paraphernalia.
Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office director, said Hassan was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12, at Florentina Drive in San Jose Gusu village, this city.
Lorenzo said recovered from Hassan’s possession were 40 grams of suspected shabu worth P272,000, nine pieces of counterfeit P1,000 used as boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill as marked money, and a pack cigarette used as a container of the illegal drugs.
All the arrested suspects were detained while formal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
