‘Alakdan’ division holds duathlon competition

FOUR teams composed of 24 personnel competed in the first-ever Duathlon competition held by the Army’s 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division (ID) Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in Jolo, Sulu.

Major General Ignatius Patrimonio, 11ID commander, said that the participants of the Team Red won as champion of the Duathlon competition.

Team Blue came in second, with Team Green and Team Gold coming in third and fourth respectively, according to Patrimonio, who is also the Joint Task Force Sulu commander.

He said the said event is a 5.3-kilometer run inside Camp Bautista in Busbus village, Jolo, and a 16.3-kilometer bike within the municipality of Patikul.

“It is one of the pre-anniversary activities of the Alakdan Division to celebrate its 4th Founding Anniversary on December 1,” he said.

The participants of the Duathlon competition include Colonel Christopher Tampus, 11ID chief of staff; Colonel Gregorio Nieveras, 11ID Inspector General; and, Colonel Nazarito Floresca, the Deputy Inspector General of the Philippine Army. (SunStar Zamboanga)
