THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is looking at two possible leads that will lead it to the culprit behind the stabbing of “Bonbon” the dog last November 6, 2022.
City Councilor Phillip Zafra, chairman of the committee on peace and order, told SunStar Cebu on Thursday, November 17, that the initial report from the CCPO revealed that a minor may have lodged the knife in the head of the stray dog.
However, Zafra said he received another report telling that an adult male resident of Barangay Bonbon was responsible.
In the case of the minor, the councilor said that moments before the dog was discovered, an 11-year-old boy was seen by another minor holding the knife that was later found stuck in the dog’s head. But no further information would support that allegation, he said.
"The CCPO will dig deeper into its investigation because, accordingly, police received information that a child saw the 11-year-old boy holding the knife but no one saw the boy stick the knife into the dog’s head,” Zafra said in Cebuano.
The councilor further said that on Wednesday, November 16, he received "credible information" that the perpetrator was not a minor but an adult male.
Zafra said the reliable informant told him the adult male has already fled the barangay and went into hiding. (IRT)
