THE Zamboanga City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) has approved the City Peace and Order Public Safety (Pops) Plan for 2023-2025 during its special meeting in the afternoon of Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Mayor John Dalipe, who chairs the CPOC, said in a statement Thursday, November 17, that the Pops Plan is a three-year plan that consists of programs and activities to promote peace and order and public safety in the city as specified in a memorandum circular of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Dalipe said they also approved a resolution authored by Councilor Vincent Paul Elago increasing the allowance of People’s Law Enforcement Board members from P1,000 to P2,000 subject to availability of funds and commission on Audit rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, the celebration of Week of Peace from November 24 to December 5, which is pursuant to a city Ordinance and executive order of Mayor Dalipe, was also discussed during the CPOC meeting.

The declaration will be reinforced with a directive to be issued by Dalipe enjoining all barangays to participate and come up with activities in celebration of the Week of Peace. (SunStar Zamboanga)
