Nicholas faces Tesoro for WBO Oriental Youth belt

UNBEATEN prospect Daniel Nicholas gets his chance on becoming a youth champion in just his seventh pro fight as he takes on Jestine Tesoro for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental Youth featherweight belt in one of the featured fights of “Kumong Bol-anon VIII” on Dec. 8 at the Calape Gymnasium in Calape, Bohol.

Since making it to the pro ranks in 2019, Nicholas has been dominating his opponents in four-round and six-round bouts.

Nicholas’ toughest opponent to date was former Omega Gym boxer Marjon Piencenaves, who he beat by a close unanimous decision last June 26 in Bohol.

He’s coming off a first round technical knockout of Jerry Pabila on Sept. 9, also in Bohol.

In the main event, Virgel Vitor makes the first title defense of his WBO Oriental super featherweight strap against South Korean Dong Kwan Lee.

Vitor just won the vacant WBO Oriental super featherweight belt with a third round knockout of Arnon Yupang on Sept. 9 in Bohol.

Lee is riding an eight-fight winning streak. He’s fresh from a second round technical knockout of Roemart Sentillas on Aug. 13 in South Korea.

Vitor is 19-2 with 12 knockouts, while Lee is 16-2-2 with seven knockouts.
