SOME 150 military and civilian personnel of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) have undergone financial literacy seminar aimed to capacitate them on management of finances.

The seminar was held Wednesday, November 16, at the Westmincom gymnasium facilitated by Westmincom’s Office of the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Personnel.

“This initiative will aid the military and civilian workforce to become financially secure and more practical in money management believing that financial freedom isn’t about luck but it’s about choice,” Brigadier General Arturo Rojas, acting commander of Westmincom said.

Armand Bengco, chief executive officer (CEO) of KsK SMP Cooperative, was the resource speaker during the activity.

Bengco shared his best practices on how to generate more income and save and invest money.

He also educated the participants on how to manage and eliminate debts and build long-term investments.

One of the remarkable statements of Bengco is: “In our life there are Ifs, which we call SAD events. S stands for Sickness, A for Accidents, and D for Death or Disability, therefore, we must save money for these unexpected events.” (SunStar Zamboanga)
