A PUBLIC school teacher was killed in a highway accident in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police reported Saturday, November 19, 2022.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) identified the fatality as Maricel Rojas, 40, a teacher of Lapakan Elementary School, Zamboanga City.
The ZCPO said the accident happened around 3:50 p.m. Friday, November 18, in Zone 1, Culianan village, east of this city.
The police said that Rojas lost control of the steering bar and crashed into the pavement after she accidentally bumped a stray dog while driving a motorcycle heading towards the city proper.
Rojas was rushed to the Mindanao Sanitarium Hospital for treatment but was declared dead by the attending physician due to severe head injury. (SunStar Zamboanga)
