OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested a wanted person in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the CIDG reported.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Rex Perocho, CIDG-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Field Unit chief, identified the arrested wanted person as Sayad Samal, 37.

Perocho said Samal was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 5 p.m. Thursday, November 17, in Ticala village, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur.

He said Samal has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of frustrated murder with P200,000 recommended bail dated February 7, 2019 issued by the court of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Perocho said Samal is one of the primary suspects in the shooting of a certain Toto Cabaron, who survived the incident.

He said the arrested suspect was placed under the custody of the CIDG-Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Field Unit for documentation and proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
