A MAN was shot dead for allegedly failing to pay his debt in a transaction involving illegal drugs.

The incident took place in Sitio San Roque-Rail Site II in Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City around 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022.

The victim was identified as Argie Jervacio Isidto, a 32-year-old unmarried resident of the sitio.

Mabolo Police Station chief Maj. Eraño Regidor said they have already identified the suspect, but he declined to divulge the identity because their manhunt operation was still ongoing as of this writing.

The victim and the suspect had known each other, according to Regidor.

Based on the statement of a witness who refused to be identified, the victim was standing in an alley when the suspect suddenly approached him and shot him in the neck.

The suspect used a .45 pistol in shooting Isidto, based on a spent bullet that was found in the crime scene.

Regidor said Isidto had no criminal record in the Mabolo Police Station, but he added that the barangay had received several complaints against the victim due to his alleged illegal drug activities. (AYB / TPT)
