A FREE art workshop for children which aims to develop ang discover potential visual artists was held at the “Puluy-an” Art Gallery at Barangay Bita Sur in Oton town, Iloilo province.
Aside from developing craftsmanship of young artists, the art workshop also paves way for the bonding of the participants and their parents.
Art instructors were Ilonggo Artists John Paul Castillo, Rey Haro Buenaventura, Steve Magbanua, Junjun Duarte, Arnold Almacen, John Micheal Tauro, Jeffrey Nhene Geraldo, Orland and Tyrone Espinosa Melvin Guirhem.
Guirhem ventured into fabric art proved rewarding when he won the grand prize at the Philippine Art Awards (PAA) in 2020 for his piece Failed Reconciliation.
It was a portrait of his once turbulent relationship with his parents and his siblings. (PR)
