THE Bureau of Corrections (Bucor) released anew on Thursday, November 24, 2022, over 230 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from various facilities across the country.
In a statement, the Bucor said out of the 234 released PDLs, 128 were from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), 47 from Davao Prison and Penal Farm and 21 from the Correctional Institute for Women, among others.
It said 106 were released on parole, 104 have completed their maximum sentence with Good Conduct Time Allowance, while 12 were acquitted from charges against them.
In September and October, 371 and 350 PDLs, respectively, were released from various facilities under the control of Bucor in a bid to decongest the country’s jail facilities. (SunStar Philippines)
