THE seven-day average of coronavirus disease (Covid-19)-related deaths in the country is down to 12 from around 40 in October, Octa Research fellow Doctor Guido David said on Friday, November 25, 2022.
As of November 21, David said the weekly average of Covid-19 deaths in the country was 12, lower than the 38 deaths recorded during the third week of October.
David said the peak on the number of deaths in the country due to Covid-19 was during the Delta surge on August 22, 2021 with 267.
“Among the 64,524 Covid-19 deaths reported in the Philippines, 42,260 or 65.5 percent occurred in 2021,” he said.
“So far in 2022, there have been 13,105 reported Covid-19 deaths, or 20 percent of the total,” he added.
As of November 24, the Philippines had a total Covid-19 caseload of 4,029,201 with 17,393 active cases. (SunStar Philippines)
