A MOTHER and her twin sons were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Police Station 2 operatives in Barangay 2, Bacolod City around 7 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2022.

Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, Station 2 commander, identified the arrested suspects as Memar Diopeta, 53, and her sons Wowie and Wendyl, both 27, all residents of the barangay’s Purok Sigay.

Pendon said the Diopetas have been under surveillance for a week following information that they are into illegal drug trade.

Some 14 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 20 grams and valued at P136,000, P400 in cash believed to be proceeds of the illegal drug transaction and the P500 buy-bust money among others were recovered upon their arrests.

The arrests of the Diopetas took place a day after their neighbor Jonathan Estolano, 36, was apprehended with P183,000 worth of suspected shabu by the operatives of Bacolod City Police Office.

Lieutenant Joven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit, said they recovered from Estolano's possession six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 27 grams, P1,000 marked money, coin purse and P348 cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug transactions.

Mogato said the suspect, who was identified as a street level individual in Bacolod, was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The arrested drug suspects are all detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 2 while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (with reports from Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
