PHILIPPINE Airlines (PAL) successfully conducted on Monday, Nov. 28, a test flight to the Loakan Airport in Baguio City, ahead of its planned Cebu to Baguio route launch on Dec. 16.

“This is no ordinary day for PAL. This flight is proof that it’s all systems go for the official opening of PAL’s Cebu-Baguio route on December 16, 2022,” PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said in a social media post on Monday.

This successful test flight is the culmination of months of preparation among all industry stakeholders to make the return to Baguio by the flag carrier a reality, she said.

Starting Dec. 16, PAL would operate four flights per week for the route.

The Lucio Tan-led carrier, Department of Transportation, and the Baguio local government have been working together to make the test flight happen.

In command of the flight were Capt. Anthony Larena, Capt. Vincent Almeda, and cabin crew team members Dawn Andrade, Sharon Francisco and Michelle Mariano.

The flight departed from Baguio at 12:30 p.m. (CSL)
