A CREATION of a board resolution is being eyed to strictly implement the no pick-up policy for buses, said Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) head Aisa Usop on Monday, November 28.

“That is one of our agenda to further implement and help enforce the no-pick up policy. The DCOTT board members would approve the resolution for the strict implementation of the loading sa atong mga pasahero na dapat diri lang gyod sa atong DCOTT terminal (that loading passengers should only be done at the DCOTT terminal),” Usop told SunStar Davao in an interview.

Usop said the resolution is still being drafted by the board members, which include DCOTT executives, representatives from the City Mayor’s Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Legal Office, Southern Bus Association, and the city council as the technical working group.

Currently, the no-pick up policy is done by the enforcing body including City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Land Transportation Office, among others.

The DCOTT head reiterated that loading of bus passengers should only be done at designated terminals however, she admitted that implementation of the no pick-up policy is a hit or miss since there are still buses and vans that pick up passengers on the road.

“Padayon ang pag implement ng atong men in unifrom but hide and seek ang style kay dili malikayan atong mga bus and vans, mag pick up gyod sila (Our men in uniform continue to implement the policy but it is challenging because it can't be avoided that some buses and vans still load passengers),” Usop said.
