AFTER the patient they rescued fell from their stretcher, four personnel of the Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) are now under investigation.

Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan, head of DRRMO, said yesterday her four personnel, whose names are being withheld, rescued Melfred Sepida, 50, of Barangay Alijis on Saturday, November 26.

Sepida, who is said to be under the influence of liquor, reportedly fell from his tricycle and bumped his head on the wall of the Bacolod City Government Center replica at the Public Plaza.

“The victim was restless and while he was on the stretcher, he accidentally fell to the ground,” Pornan noted, adding that the personnel were supposed to lock the stretcher before it happened.

Sepida was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital with head injuries.

The four DRRMO personnel are temporarily re-assigned in a different office pending the investigation of the incident.
