Imee Marcos leads distribution of financial aid in Bago City

PRESIDENTIAL sister Senator Imee Marcos led the distribution of financial assistance worth about P3 million under the Aid for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center in Bago City Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Marcos said each of the 1,000 recipients rom the different parts of the Fourth District of Negros Occidenta received P3,000.

Earlier on Tuesday, she also led the distribution of another P3 million worth of financial aid to 1,000 recipients in Hamtic, Antique.

Marcos, who was accompanied by Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer and Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo, also led the distribution of nutribuns to Bagonhon children.

The nutribuns came from the proceeds of the movie "Maid in Malacañang" which is about the life story of the Marcoses during the Martial Law years and Edsa Revolution.

The senator also announced that the municipal mayors in the province’s Fourth District will also receive P5 million each under the budget of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The local government units (LGUs), she said, will need to submit their project proposals intended for agricultural equipment.

Meanwhile, Marcos is the author of the bill that postponed the December 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) next year.

In her speech, she acknowledged that his brother, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. garnered the highest votes in Fourth District in the last presidential elections.

Marcos said her presence in the district yesterday is her way of giving thanks to the people there.

"Mula noon Hanggang ngayon, ang Fourth District ay Marcos pa rin," she noted.
