In a world where wealth and power are usually acquired through violence, a woman uses her strongest weapon, her body.
A Vivamax Original Movie set during the early World War II in the Philippines, Selina's Gold follows the story of Selina (Angeli Khang), a young woman sold by her father as a payment for a debt. She is forced to leave home and work as a helper for a wealthy, greedy middle-aged man named Tiago (Jay Manalo).
Tiago abuses and repeatedly rapes Selina, and left with no choice, Selina eventually accepts that this is now her life and tries to meet halfway with Tiago. The only thing that motivates her and keeps her from escaping this miserable life is her hope of finding Tiago’s hidden stash of money and gold.
Selina also begins an affair with Domeng (Gold Aceron), Tiago’s blind helper, who secretly listens whenever Selina sleeps with Tiago. Things turn violent, when big revelations explode one after another.
Can fortune even make up for the truth she’ll discover? Or will she never heal from the pain and trauma? Even if Selina’s given all the money and gold in the world.
Produced by Viva Films, Selina’s Gold is another much-awaited film from McArthur C. Alejandre, the same director of “Silip Sa Apoy”. Alejandre recently won as best director at 4th Wallachia International Film Festival in Romania for “Silip sa Apoy”.
Selina’s Gold is the third collaboration of McArthur C. Alejandre and K-Krush Angeli Khang. After “Silip sa Apoy'' they worked together in the chart-topping series “’Wag Mong Agawin ang Akin.” Meanwhile, this is Gold Aceron’s second movie with director McArthur C. Alejandre. Their first movie was May-December-January which had nationwide theatrical release last October 12. Alejandre once posted in his social media that he is honored to work with Jay Manalo.
