Cebu was able to relive the magic and nostalgia of Eraserheads when Ely Buendia performed in Cebu City for the first time in years. The concert was held in Ayala Center Cebu on Nov. 19, 2022, and Cebuanos flocked to see the legend perform and sing the songs of yesterday as if they were the anthems of tomorrow.
The former vocalist rocked the night as he serenaded the crowd with Eraserheads classics such as “With a Smile,” “Alapaap,” “Ligaya” and their iconic and forever crowd favorite, “Ang Huling El Bimbo.”
During the show, Ely told the throngs of people that came to see the show that Cebu City has always been one of his favorite cities to perform.
“You never disappoint, Cebu,” Buendia said.
The crowd, both young and old, were there singing their hearts out as Ely and his band serenaded the audience; a wave of nostalgia sweeping over them as the group went on to play some of Eraserheads’ most beloved songs.
Music will always have a place in the hearts of the Filipinos. It is embedded deep into Filipino culture, but it takes good music to truly take us into a whole new universe.
