A WANTED man facing 25 counts of rape was arrested in Purok Tugas, Barangay Poblacion in Liloan, Cebu, on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.
The accused, a 40-year-old fisherman, was considered the northern town’s most wanted man.
Major Ramil Morpos, chief of the Liloan Police Station, said the arrest warrant was for the incestuous rape case that his daughter filed with the help of her aunt last July 24.
The warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 6 Judge Maria Dee Seares on November 22.
The accused is also facing four counts of child abuse.
According to Morpos, the accused turned his daughter into his sex slave from 2018 to 2022.
The sexual abuse was only discovered when the daughter couldn’t take it anymore and told her aunt about her ordeal last July.
“The father had threatened to kill his daughter if she told anyone,” Morpos said in Cebuano.
The accused, for his part, denied raping his daughter. However, he admitted that he touched her private parts.
Morpos said the father initially fled when his crime was discovered but he returned to the town recently thinking the case against him had been shelved. (GPL)
