POLICEMEN have arrested in a law enforcement operation one of the most wanted persons in this southern port city, the police reported Thursday, December 1, 2022.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested suspect as Joseph Atilano, 44, the number six most wanted person within the area of operations of ZCPO’s Station 7.

Lorenzo said that Atilano was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 9:56 a.m. Thursday, December 1, in Sitio Talungon, San Roque village, Zamboanga City.

He said Atilano has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of rape with P200,000 recommended bail issued by the court of Zamboanga City dated November 3, 2022.

Lorenzo said the accused was placed under the custody of ZCPO’s Station 7 prior to turning over to the court concerned. (SunStar Zamboanga)
