IT WAS another exciting day for all sports lovers in the Province of Negros Occidental as “Abanse Negrense” table tennis tournament’s championship game kicked off in La Carlota City on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
Players from the cities of La Carlota and Bacolod were among the top winners of the tournament, which drew 80 participants coming from 22 towns and cities of the province.
The players competed in ten categories such as Girls 10 and Under, Boys 10 and Under, Girls 15 and Under, Boys 15 and Under, Girls 18 and Under, Boys 18 and Under, Women’s Open, Men’s Open, Men’s Executive 45 Up, and Veterans 60 Up.
La Carlota City had a total of four championship titles in the Girls 15 and Under, Boys 15 and Under, Boys 18 and under, and in the Men’s Open categories.
Meanwhile, Bacolod City took home three championship awards in the Girls 18 and Under, Men’s Executive 45 Up, and Veterans 60 Up divisions.
Other winners included the representative from Bago City for the Women’s Open category, while Binalbagan and Toboso towns made it at the Boys 10 and under and Girls 10 and under divisions, respectively.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Provincial Sport Office Head Anthony Carlo Agustin, and La Carlota City Mayor Rex Jalandoon led the awarding of winners.
