Fishmonger shot dead by own drinking partner

A FISHMONGER died after he was shot by his neighbor in Barangay Gunting in the southern town of Barili, Cebu around noon on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Eric Tampos.

He succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.

Staff Sergeant Jeffrey Alpas of the Barili Police Station said they arrested the gunman, whom they identified as Joselito Languido, a 62-year-old farmer.

Alpas said the victim was having a drinking session in the suspect’s house when the incident happened.

When they got drunk, they started to argue, he said.

He said Tampos probably didn’t notice that Languido had taken a gun and shot him in the head and in the body.

Alpas said they received information that Languido was a sponsor in Tampos’ wedding, which was why they were close and they were constant drinking partners. (GPL)
