THREE of the six suspects in the murder of two policemen in Mabalacat City, Pampanga were arrested on Saturday afternoon.

Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen, director Police Regional Office III (PRO-3), disclosed this on Sunday morning.

Pasiwen said the suspects were nabbed on Saturday afternoon a few hours after the crime was perpetrated.

The victims, Police Senior Master Sergeant Sofronio Capitle Jr. and Police Staff Sergeant Dominador Gacusan, were allegedly shot to death by the suspects at dawn on Saturday.

The police officers, both deployed in Mabalacat City, came from an anti-illegal drug operation when they were ambushed by suspects, according to the city police.

After a follow-up operation, police were able to identify and locate the three suspects.

They were identified as Jun-jun Baluyut, Aries Bagsic, and Leslie Placiente, all of whom are residents of Mabalacat City.

A motorcycle with bloodstains believed to be one of those used by the suspects during the crime was seized from Baluyut.

Another suspect identified as Kiel Patrick Chua was killed in a shoot out with Mabalacat City policemen on the same day.

Chua allegedly tried to evade a checkpoint and opened fired at authorities when they were flagged down for inspection.

Pasiwen said the two remaining suspects identified as Kenneth Flores and a certain alias “Pusa” are still being hunted down by authorities.

They were identified after the service firearm of one of the slain cops was recovered in the roof gutter of the house owned by Flores.

The extra judicial confession of Baluyut also revealed some vital information on the duo’s involvement in the crime.
