TWO people who were dining at a restaurant in Tunga, Leyte were shot to death by car-riding gunmen on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
The victims were identified as Benjamin Balais, a resident of Barangay Pitogo, Barugo, Leyte; and Ace Sonorio, a resident of Barangay Abango, of the same town.
They died on the spot during the gun attack, which happened around 2:40 p.m. Sunday at the Riders Food House along the national highway in Barangay Santo Nino, Tunga.
Police said the manager and the cashier of the food house were also injured during the incident.
In an initial investigation, four bonnet-wearing male persons alighted from a black sports utility vehicle and shot the victims using long firearms.
The suspects immediately fled toward the direction of Carigara, Leyte.
The Tunga Municipal Police Station is investigating the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
