PDMPD drivers’ service terminated

THE provincial government has terminated the contract of service of 13 drivers assigned at the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division for irregularities and rude behavior, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Alberto Nellas, Jr. said yesterday, December 5.

"We have found grounds for neglect of duty and grave misconduct (against them), so the termination of their contracts was effective immediately," Nella's said.

It may be recalled that the drivers allegedly failed to submit trip tickets, hence, they were issued show cause orders last month.

Aside from the 13 drivers, three administrative aides, a utility worker, and a special operation officer were issued show cause orders, too, for rude behavior to their fellow co-workers.

"The latest action made by the Provincial Legal Office (PLO) should serve as a lesson for all provincial government workers to always follow regulations as well as show respect to both their fellow employees and clients in order to avoid any problems,” Nellas said.

Nellas also said that in January, 2023 the hearing conference will be conducted against the five employees.

Earlier Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (Pace) President Renelo Lastierre said they are hoping for a fair investigation against the employees.

Lastierre said they do not tolerate stubborn employees among the Capitol's employees, although they want due process for the 18 personnel. (TDE)
