NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, First District Board Members Araceli Somosa and Rommel Debulgado, and San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo led the inauguration of the District Animal Health Center project of the provincial government in San Carlos City last week.

The facility aims to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of animal health care and related services.

It is supervised by the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) headed by its officer-in-charge, Dr. Placeda Lemana, in collaboration with the partner LGUs of the First District.

The animal health center can cater to local government units (LGUs) in the First District including Escalante and San Carlos, and the towns of Calatrava, Don Salvador Benedicto, and Toboso.

Among the services that will be made available in the animal center are veterinary consultation, medical treatment, deworming, vitamin supplementation, laboratory tests, and surgery-castration.

The PVO also facilitated the distribution of farm inputs, and veterinary supplies to identified beneficiaries in the district.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the province and the LGUs was also signed to ensure the center’s successful operation. (PR)
