WORLD Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental super featherweight king Virgel Vitor is looking for an impressive win in his first title defense against challenger Dong Kwan Lee on Dec. 8 at the Calape Coliseum in Calape, Bohol.

“I’m excited because this is my first title defense. Whatever he brings to this fight, I’ll do it better,” Vitor said. “There’s a huge possibility of a knockout because I’m really aiming for an impressive win. But I won’t take him lightly.”

The 25-year-old Vitor is on a six-fight winning streak since losing to veteran Mark Anthony Geraldo in 2019. Vitor just bagged the WBO Oriental super featherweight belt after knocking out Thai Arnon Yupang in the third round on Sept. 9 in Dimiao, Bohol.

“I think he can’t hit me. What he said will be reversed,” said Lee.

The 30-year-old Lee is on an impressive eight straight wins. His last two victories were against Pinoy fighters Michael Landero and Roemart Sentillas.

Vitor is 19-2 with 12 knockouts, while Lee is 16-2-2 with seven knockouts.

Vitor could enter WBO’s super featherweight rankings with a win over Lee.

Undefeated prospect Daniel Nicolas (6-0, 4 KOs) trades leathers with Jestine Tesoro (7-4, 3 KOs) for the vacant WBO Oriental Youth featherweight strap in the show’s co-main event.

In the undercard, unbeaten former amateur standout John Vincent Pangga (7-0, 4 KOs) is up against Ruel Julian (4-3, 1 KO); Shane Gentallan (5-0, 2 KOs) squares off with Ronal Ewican (5-5, 2 KOs); Rodel Suganob (7-0-1, 3 KOs) locks horns with Mark Glen Antaran (4-6-3, 3 KOs); Christian Balunan (5-0, 3 KOs) faces off with Jay-R Tulinan (4-6, 2 KOs); Jhunrille Castino (12-1, 4 KOs) exchanges blows with Emmanuel Mogawa (5-6, 2 KOs); Gerwin Astilo (2-0, 1 KO) takes on Kier Clenton Espere (4-3-1, 1 KO); Reymart Tagacanao (2-0, 2 KOs) is fighting Jerry Tabago (3-9-1); RJ Sios-e (2-0, 2 KOs) faces Dave Barlas (5-5-1, 3 KOs); Pablito Balidio (5-3-3, 1 KO) is taking on Briel Ozaraga (2-4-1, 1 KO); and Arnel Tinampay (27-26-1, 12 KOs) faces fellow veteran Ryan Maano (5-14-2, 1 KO).
